thick fog

the writing life

Landscape, summer forest gladecloudy in thy head
a thick fog drifted in
while thy sleepily slept, or
drunkenly drank

does the dark creep in
during a dream
cast a shadow
over days that might gleam

does it lie dormant
waiting to overcome
when thoughts are low,
nowhere else to go

these new times
dizzily sorrowful
head and heart
seem shattered, apart
