joyfully steeped
My daydreams of rain came to fruition last night. We were (slightly) cooled by a sudden rainstorm. I am re-blogging my poem “Joyfully Steeped” to celebrate.
curious rumble
evolution to steel gray
abrupt weather change
clouds upon ocean
rapid, vapory, sullen
cumulus shatter
instantaneous
rain drops pummel droughty earth
torrential down pour
refreshingly quick
joyfully steeped in rain tea
nature and souls quenched

dreamy splashes
your gentle drops
have been nowhere
to be found
sweet smell of rain
today,
you came round
dreamy splashes
a soft lullaby
tonight, earth and I
are to sleepily sound

walking in new rain
could stay inside
and avoid the rain
but cool air and fresh mist
is something I’ve missed
jump over puddles
and pieces of palm
I walk to you
as I always do
vivacious waves crash
wild and quick
colors of silver and white
from dark to light
I should always walk
not stay inside
a time for inspiration
for internal communication
the smell of new rain
the difference in the waves
a new kind of peace
nature’s release
flowers have been cleaned
a new wonderland
leaves of bright green
screaming to be seen
the rain sprinkles
its tiny confetti
upon my smiling face
walking from my favorite place
